About my talks and workshops
I love making and designing, and I love talking about the making and designing. However, just talking isn’t always very interesting, so I bring lots (and lots) of samples for you to look at and handle, books that I recommend and equipment that I use. Talks and demonstrations last about an hour, workshops for small groups can be tailored to your requirements.
Cost – £30/hour plus travel. A small additional charge is made for materials used in workshops.

Braids and Tassels: finish your project with style
From simple plied and twisted cords, through using a lucet and working kumihimo braids on a marudai, to larger woven straps on an inkle loom, I can show you a multitude of ways for finishing your project. Having looked at cords, we explore the joy of tassels – big, chunky tassels with wooden heads, small delicate beaded tassels and everything in between.
— This is offered as a talk/demonstration and can also be offered as a workshop tailored to you.

Hooked on Crochet: including Tunisian, Mosaic, Mochila & Freeform
I am rarely to be found without a hook in my hand, and for this talk I bring with me examples of some of the wonderful types of crochet available from the simple, standard crochet that is often used when we start out, to the more complex hooped mandalas, through the joy of Tunisian crochet and its elegant hooks, to the craziness of Freeform crochet and its application. We look at Mochila bags and that particular technique, and the elegance of beaded crochet ropes with their delicate appearance and wonderful drape.
- This is offered as a talk. Specific techniques can be taught as a workshop to small groups.
