Hi, I’m Sue Pearson, and I’ve been captivated by yarn and textiles for as long as I can remember. Whether it’s crochet, weaving, or embroidery, I find joy in transforming fibres into something unique and beautiful.
My journey with yarn began in childhood when my mum taught me to knit and crochet before I was 10. She also introduced me to sewing—both by hand and machine—while a kind neighbour shared the art of smocking with me. Over the years, my love for fibre arts only grew.
In my early twenties, I explored lace-making and even created a delicate lace edging for my baby’s christening robe. When my children were young, I pursued a City & Guilds Design and Embroidery qualification, which opened up a world of techniques, from braid and tassel making to felt work.
The 2020 lockdowns became a turning point in my creative journey. With time to explore new skills, my husband built me an inkle loom from scrap wood, and I eagerly learned to weave. Later that year, I discovered Tunisian crochet, and soon after, when I couldn’t find a pattern that matched my vision, I took the leap into designing my own crochet patterns. I’ve been designing ever since!
In 2014, I began weaving on a rigid heddle loom, a craft I continue to enjoy. While I don’t write patterns for my woven pieces, I create one-of-a-kind scarves, shawls, and throws, which you can find in my Etsy shop, alongside a selection of finished crochet items.
Thank you for visiting—I hope my work inspires you as much as the craft inspires me!
